If your hand of two or more cards is closer to 21 than the dealer's, you win and are paid even money. Face cards (Jack, Queen, King) count as ten, Ace counts as 1 or 11 and all other cards are face value. A Blackjack is when the first two cards dealt to you are a ten or face card, and an Ace. Blackjack pays 3 to 2.
Bets must be placed in the marked boxes. Each player in turn, starting from the dealer's left, either stands on their first two cards or draws more cards to reach a total closer to 21. The dealer must draw a card on 16 and soft 17's (an Ace and 6) and stand on 17 or more.
If your first two cards are a pair, you may split them and place an equal bet next to your original bet and play 2 hands. If you split Aces, you will receive one card on each Ace only, and if this second card is a ten or face card, this counts as 21, not as Blackjack.
After your first two cards are dealt you may double your initial bet. However, you will receive one additional card only. Doubling is also permitted on split hands.
If the dealer's first card is an Ace, you may insure by placing a bet of up to half your initial wager in the area marked "Insurance pays 2 to 1". This will be paid only if the dealer obtains Blackjack, you only lose the value of your original wager.
